These pieces are inspired by my deep interests in organic form, color, and light, as well as my natural inclination towards creating containers. I use material from the natural world that might have otherwise have been overlooked to create compositions which I then encase in fine layers of opaque and translucent hand-colored resins. The suspended compositions within the welded steel or wood frames are further suspended away from the wall so that light entering from behind creates a glow. The containers I create can be their own small worlds, holding a caught moment, a meditation on form, or a subtle gesture.
