With the 2016 American Craft Exposition (ACE) only one month away, preparations are in full-swing to make this year’s Show the best yet! Our dedicated team of volunteers is working around the clock to bring an incredibly talented group of over 140 artists to one of the most magnificent venues the Midwest has to offer – the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Our line-up of artists this year is dynamic, encompassing both first-time ACE exhibitors and veterans who have been showcasing their work with us for 20-plus years. All hail from across the country and span a variety of mediums including: basketry, ceramics, jewelry and furniture to name a few. We are always proud to say that we bring together the top tier of fine-craft talent in the country.

As always, we will be kicking off our ACE weekend with the highly anticipated, exclusive Benefit Preview Party. Providing the craft connoisseur premier access to the show, the Benefit Preview Party offers guests the opportunity to mix and mingle with the artists while enjoying a festive and fabulous evening – including luscious bites and libations. Tickets are $175 in advance, $200 at the door for the Benefit Preview Party and include a three-day pass and a daily discounted parking voucher for ACE. If you have never been to the Preview Party before, we encourage you to join us for what is sure to be a delightful evening!

We will have a number of educational opportunities taking place at ACE this year. Guests are encouraged to experience first-hand how ACE artists develop their fine pieces of craft while getting an insider’s glimpse into their experiences as craft artists at our series of artist lectures. From metal to ceramics, wood and jewelry artists, these craftsmen each have a unique and informative presentation to share with ACE patrons.

ACE remains committed to supporting research and clinical programs at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore). Over the years our focus has been on raising critical funds for breast and ovarian cancer research at NorthShore. We are excited to share that this year’s proceeds will be supporting NorthShore’s innovative pharmacogenomics research. Funds raised will allow researchers to analyze and predict how patients react to medications based on genetic variants. This information can be used to customize medical treatments, ensuring that patients receive the right drug in the right dose at the right time, minimizing the side effects and adverse reactions to drugs for patients. Proudly, all funds raised at ACE will have a direct impact on this very important, leading-edge research.

As the weekend of September 23rd draws closer, we will be sure to share additional details with all of you. In the meantime, please be sure to visit our ACE website which is updated regularly with important Show details. Stay tuned and enjoy your summer!
