Bounkhong Signavong is a self-trained artist in the crafts of weaving and patterning. With the help of family members, as well as a formal education at the Fashion Institute in Bangkok, Thailand, Bounkhong’s work has been featured in many nationally televised fashion shows. He once even had Robin Williams as a client! Bounkhong’s work consists of one-of-a-kind textiles made from naturally died silk and cotton and hand-woven on a traditional-style loom. The resulting fabrics are used to create shawls, scarves, and other accessories, as well as shirts, jackets, and coats.
